CAMPBELL-STONE SENIOR LIVING HELPS ROTARY CLUB OF SANDY SPRINGS FILL THE MERT TRAILER

Recycled medical supplies fill Medical Equipment Recycling Trailer

The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs continues to fill its medical recycling trailer, affectionately called MERT, with used medical equipment which is then transported to FODAC, Friends of Disabled Adults and Children. FODAC then distributes the supplies and equipment to people in need, free of charge.

Multiple loads of recycled equipment have been delivered to FODAC by the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs since the club began the program several years ago. Working with senior living centers is a natural fit to find used medical equipment for MERT.

The Campbell-Stone Senior Living Center is located in Sandy Springs.

President Jerry Hicks, Phil Farias, and Ed Steele, all members of the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs, helped load MERT. Phil Farias drove the trailer to FODAC for delivery.

When not in transit, MERT is stored at the Morgan Falls Recycling Center. There, the general public can bring their used medical equipment for recycling in MERT.
